Location:30 miles northeast of Reno, Nevada, near the eastern shoreline of Pyramid Lake.
Special Features:Provides habitat for one of the largest white pelican nesting colonies in North America.
Habitats: 247-acre rocky island.
Access: Closed to the public. Boating is not permitted within 500 feet of the island.
Wild life: White pelicans, cormorants, great blue herons, and gulls.
