Andreapol’
a city in the central part of Andreapol’ Raion, Kalinin Oblast, RSFSR. It is situated on the upper reaches of the Western Dvina River. Its railway station is on the Bologoe-Velikie Luki line. In 1968 it had a population of 12,000. Its industries include timber (logging and a lumber complex) and lime and porcelain plants. It was given the status of a city in 1967.
