We calculated two angles to describe the position of the upper arm related to the thorax: (1) the

angle of elevation (Figure 3(b)), defined as the angle between the upper arm and trunk (upper arm parallel with thorax, 0[degrees]; upper arm parallel with horizontal; 90[degrees]), and (2) the plane of elevation (Figure 3(c)), defined as the angle between the thorax and the upper arm in the transversal plane (arm extended forward, 0[degrees]; arm extended to the lateral, -90[degrees]).

Now, given the large number of people waiting in line with me, not to mention my

angle of elevation to those behind, I naturally just assumed it was someone else's shoulder I could feel brushing against me.

We had to help construct a model of the local buildings and calculate the

angle of elevation of the sun to piece together where the sun would have been and whether he could've been blinded as he'd claimed.

It was allowable if it did not exceed the

angle of elevation of the Mull of Kintyre from the mainland.

At a maximum firing

angle of elevation of 35-degrees, the rifle, shotgun and muzzleloader projectiles travel 13,926', 10,378', and 9,197' respectfully.

Two of the ramps were built with about a 10-degree

angle of elevation.

Used to measure the

angle of elevation of a celestial object above the horizon-typically the sun or the Pole Star--the sextant allowed mariners to determine their position at sea.

MOA: Gives minutes of

angle of elevation to adjust a riflescope for precise zero.

A sextant is used to measure the

angle of elevation above the horizon of celestial bodies, including the sun.

To perform this calculation you will need measurements of your distance from the object, and the measurement of the angle between the ground and the top of the object, or the

angle of elevation.

Furthermore, a plot of paintball range versus

angle of elevation showed that the maximum range did not occur near an elevationangle of 45 degrees, but instead occurred at approximately 30 degrees, indicating that friction was important.

Air Force, which has radar installations in Riverhead on eastern Long Island and at Truro on Cape Cod that can estimate the altitude of incoming objects by recording the

angle of elevation of the radar when the signal hit the object.
