Ansible

(1) Software used to write scripts that automate the deployment and configuration of applications on Linux and Windows PCs. Developed by Michael DeHaan and introduced in 2012, Ansible runs in a Linux machine that communicates via SSH to Linux PCs and via PowerShell to Windows PCs. The scripts are written in a language such as Perl, Python or Ruby. For more information, visit www.ansible.com.

(2) (ansible) A theoretical machine that can communicate faster than the speed of light. Derived from "answerable" in the 1966 novel "Rocannon's World" by Ursula K. Le Guin, an ansible was designed for interstellar travel.
