Anthony, Robert N. (Newton)

(1916–  ) management educator; born in Orange, Mass. He taught at Harvard Business School (1940–42, 1946–83) and was U.S. assistant secretary of defense (1965–68). A specialist in management control of nonprofit organizations, he wrote dozens of books on management control and accounting, including several long-lived accounting texts.
