antitheftPreventing portable computing devices from being stolen or locating them if they are. Physical deterrents are cables and locks that can be attached to most laptops (see Kensington lock). Software solutions use the Internet, Wi-Fi and GPS to remotely identify the whereabouts of the unit, possibly take the thief's picture if it has a camera, as well as lock up the device for further usage or delete sensitive data.
