Armiak

Armiak
(Turkic). (1) A long outer robelike garment without buttons, made of heavy, coarse woolen cloth or broadcloth, which was used in the past (from the 15th and 16th centuries) by Russian peasants (especially in the Urals and the Volga Region).
(2) Armiak, or armiachina, camel’s hair cloth of various kinds of quality, made by some Turkic-speaking peoples (Tatars, Kazakhs), Mongols, and others.
(3) A special kind of woolen cloth used in Russia (until 1866) to make sacks for artillery charges.
