Automatic Frequency-Sensitive Load-Shedding
the automatic disconnection of some of the electric power consumption caused by an emergency lowering frequency in a power system, stemming from an excessive demand for electric load on the system or from the disconnection of substantial generator power. The frequency-sensitive load-shedding equipment disconnects automatically individual lines or individual consumers when the system frequency is lowered.
