FIREFIGHTERS will no longer respond to
automatic fire alarms at thousands of buildings across the region.

A UNION has warned that lives could be lost after a decision was made to stop firemen responding to
automatic fire alarms at private premises.
It was fortunate in this particular incident that an
automatic fire alarm was installed in the property and the occupier escaped uninjured.
Richard Buxton, fire safety support officer for Warwickshire, said the new system would help the brigade improve its response time to genuine
automatic fire alarms.
Yesterday morning they were called to the New Broadlands Primary School in Bryntirion when an
automatic fire alarm went off.
