(1980) CP Non conservation in Cascade Decays of
B Mesons. Phys.
B mesons are made up of one quark (the building block of protons and neutrons) and one anti-quark, which is the antimatter partner to the quark.
The new result is based on seven years of studying trillions of short-lived particles called
B mesons produced at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory's Tevatron particle collider in Batavia, Ill.

B Meson Spectroscopy," Acta Physica Polonica, vol.
But, he adds, with only about 250 of the rare
B meson decays generated at Belle so far, the team can't yet reach a firm conclusion.
The measurements can perhaps be substantiated by measurement of the decay width of
B mesons. Several experiments at LHCb are contemplating the possibility of searching for more
B meson decays.
In Table 5, we observe that all the values of pseudovector mesons are close to the experimental results except the value of
B meson which is in good agreement with the experimental value.
This past year's precise lattice calculations indicate that such a method could be in the offing for
B meson studies.
Consider the decay of
B meson into three particles of masses [m.sub.1], [m.sub.2], and [m.sub.3].
"It appears that we have established now that there is CP violation in the
B meson system," says David G.
Scientists have also reported preliminary indications of a CP violation in experiments with a particle called a
B meson (SN: 2/20/99, p.
The prevailing model of particle physics, which appears to account for the asymmetrical decays of Ks and calls for asymmetry in certain
B meson decays as well, falls short of predicting the observed disparity.
