B2E portal(Business To Employee portal) A company intranet that is customized to the employee's needs. It includes company-specific information, as well as personalized data such as hyperlinks, stock quotes, sports scores and news clips. It may even include a video feed to a day care center. A B2E portal uses the same website architecture as a B2E intranet, except that an intranet is typically generalized for all employees, while the portal can be customized for the individual.
Although many companies restrict personal use of company computers, the B2E portal acknowledges the reality that people have their own interests beyond work. See B2E, intranet and personalization.
