Babaevo

 

a city, the administrative center of Babaevo Raion, Vologda Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Kolp’ River (Volga basin), with a railroad station 246 km west of Vologda. Population, 10,900 (1968). Babaevo has rail-transport and woodworking enterprises. The city was organized in 1925 from a settlement that had grown up near the station.
