Bacteriotropins

 

antibodies formed in the blood serum of animals and man in the presence of an infectious disease. They intensify phagocytosis, altering the surface properties of bacterial cells. Unlike other serum antibodies (opsonins), bacteriotropins are specific and thermostable (they can withstand heating to 60° C). They are present in immune serums.
