Baichunas

 

an urban-type settlement in Makat Raion, Gur’ev Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located in the Emba petroleum basin 100 km east of Gur’ev and 45 km south of the Dossor railroad station (on the Gur’ev-Kandagach line). In 1968 its population was 4,500. Baichunas was founded in 1931 in connection with the development of the petroleum industry in the area.
