Baker, Hobey

Baker, (Hobart A. H.) Hobey

(1892–1918) hockey/football player; born in Bala-Cynwyd, Pa. He was a football and hockey legend at Princeton University (1911–14). A hockey pioneer in the United States, the college hockey Player of the Year award is named in his honor. He was killed in an airplane crash in World War I.
