Bakhmaro

a climatic forest resort located high in the mountains of Chokhataurskii Raion, Georgian SSR, 80 km from the railroad station of Samtredia. It is situated on the southern slopes of the Egriskii Ridge at an elevation of 2,020 m. Because of air currents penetrating from the Black Sea, the climate of the resort combines features of mountain and marine climates (average January temperature, -6° C; average July temperature, 13° C). Precipitation is about 1,400 mm per year, making the resort favorable for the cure of concealed forms of pulmonary tuberculosis. There are sanatoria, a rest home, a boardinghouse, and a polyclinic. The resort season is from May to September.
