Balabanovo
an urban-type settlement in Borovsk Raion, Kaluga Oblast, RSFSR, located on the Protva River (a left tributary of the Oka). Balabanovo has a railroad station on the Moscow-Briansk line, 20 km northeast of the city of Maloiaroslavets. Population in 1968,5,900. Balabanovo is the site of a match factory, a brickyard, and the AU-Union Scientific Research Institute of Wood Processing.
