Becker, John J.

(1886–1961) composer; born in Henderson, Ky. He taught in colleges and administrated for the Works Progress Administration in the Midwest, meanwhile composing, conducting, and promoting modernist music with only occasional success. His pieces include pioneering multimedia works.
