Bee Louse
(Braula coeca), a wingless parasitic insect of the family Braulidae of the order Diptera. The body (1-1.5 mm long) is red-brown and covered with black bristles; the head is large and broad. The legs are short and equipped with crested claws. The insect is a parasite of domestic bees, mainly the queen and drones; it causes a disease called braulosis.
