Behnisch, Günter

(1922–2010)
A prominent German architect credited with helping reshape the face of postwar Germany. His airy modern buildings include the Munich Olympic Stadium, with engineer Frei Otto, for the 1972 Olympic Games; the Plenary Complex of the German Parliament in Bonn (2002); Genzyme Center in Cambridge, MA (2003); and the Center for Cellular and Bimolecular Research in Toronto, Canada (2005).
