Benglis, Lynda

(1941–  ) sculptor, painter, video artist; born in Lake Charles, La. She studied at Sophie Newcomb College, New Orleans (1960–64), the Brooklyn Museum Art School (1964–65), and is based in California. A feminist artist and educator, she is known for her sculptural pourings, such as Bounce (1969), and twisted metallic knot forms, as in Elnath (1984).
