Bentley, John Francis

Bentley, John Francis, 1839–1902, English architect. He is noted for his design of Westminster Cathedral, London, an original and imposing structure in the Byzantine style, with a vast, unobstructed nave and tall campanile. He died at Clapham, with his designs for a proposed cathedral in Brooklyn, N.Y., unfinished.
