The beta weight for work locus of control was significant at .38 (p < .001).

The highest Beta weight was .41 (instructional), and was significant at the p<.001 level.

The individual beta weight patterns also suggest students seldom focused on more than one motivator in making their valence decisions.

In Expt 2 the only significant beta weight in the MLRAs were between non-verbal intelligence and the audio-alone condition.

The only significant beta weight produced was for the variable of political ideology with more liberal respondents more worried about environmental problems such as pollution of rivers, lakes, and reservoirs; contamination of soil, and the loss of natural habitat for wildlife.

The only other variable for which a beta weight was found to be statistically significant had a structure coefficient that suggested very little in the way of a unique contribution to the model (-.12).

The beta weight indicated that, as maternal depressive affect increases from year i to year 2, child conduct problems increase.

For viewers who dislike the format or frequency of TV advertising, dislike of TV advertising increases with income (beta weight for interaction = -.07, p < .05).

Examination of beta weights shows strong negative betas for the ethnic variables, while the individual's attitude toward females' smoking of cigarettes was the most powerful positive beta weight (Table 2).

Support for the hypothesis is found if the beta weight is negative and the confidence interval around the beta weight does not include zero (a 90% confidence interval was used due to the small sample size).

Attitude achieved a beta weight of .601 (p value of less than .001), norm achieved a non-significant beta weight of .166 (p value of .067).
