Bien Hoa (bēĕnˈ wä), city, Vietnam, c.20 mi (30 km) NE of Ho Chi Minh City. It is famous for its handmade pottery. In the city are sawmills and granite quarries. There is a commercial airport. A large U.S. air base was established there during the Vietnam War; the former air base is the site of significant Agent Orange contamination.
