Bláthy, Otto Titus

 

Born Aug. 11, 1860 in Tata; died Sept. 26, 1939, in Budapest. Hungarian electrician.

In 1885, Bláthy, K. Zipernovszky, and M. Déri invented a transformer with a closed magnetic circuit. In 1889 he invented an AC electrical energy meter that is named after him. Bláthy designed generators, turbogenerators, transformers, and other electrical equipment for electric power stations.
