Brackett series
[′brak·ət ‚sir·ēz] (spectroscopy)
A series of lines in the infrared spectrum of atomic hydrogen whose wave numbers are given by RH [(1/16) - (1/ n 2)], where RH is the Rydberg constant for hydrogen and n is any integer greater than 4.
