Especially since World War II, the pegmatites of the state of Minas Gerais have yielded some of the world's finest specimens of topaz, chrysoberyl, euclase, elbaite, and beryl (in all of its colored varieties); phosphate-rich pegmatites of the same state have furnished the world's finest specimens of brazilianite
, beryllonite, eosphorite, hydroxylherderite, amblygonite and more; complex pegmatites of other kinds have provided cassiterite, xenotime, monazite and several rare-earth species; Brazilian specimens of titanite, phenakite, fluorapatite, kyanite, scheelite, spessartine and bertrandite are among the world's very best.

In 1948 Burnham offered brazilianite
crystals (no doubt from the type locality at Corrego Frio, Brazil) in crystals to 2 inches, priced at $15; pink morganite beryl crystal groups from Brazil; and paravauxite from Llallagua, Bolivia, among many others.
Still in Brazil in 1945, he continued visiting important mineral localities, finding a wealth of gem species including fabulous brazilianite
crystals (still the world's best) at the type locality of Corrego Frio.
The Telirio mine has been a known producer of brazilianite
since at least the early 1980's, but a few years ago the "mother lode" was struck there, yielding hundreds of highly aesthetic specimens.
The new Grieger's advertised primarily gem materials, but also carried "superb specimens of Mexican wulfenite," probably from Los Lamentos, and "choice specimens of a new find of crystallized anglesite." In August 1946 he announced his acquisition of the "largest and finest lot of brazilianite
crystals ever sent to this country.
In his big airy room in the Quality Inn, Benson Highway--Marty Zinn's new-this-year acquisition--Carlos Vasconcelos of Vasconcelos (firstname.lastname@example.org), had laid out the contents of a spectacular new find, in December 2006, of brazilianite
in the Telirio mine, Linopolis area, Minas Gerais.
