Bridgeman, Frederick

Bridgeman, Frederick (Arthur)

(1847–1927) painter; born in Tuskegee, Ala. He studied with Gérôme in Paris (1866–71), where he lived and produced most of his work. He specialized in archaeological subjects, as in Funeral of a Mummy (c. 1877).
