Budukhi

 

Budugtsy, a small ethnic group living in a few villages in the Kuba and Khachmas raions of the Azerbaijan SSR. The Budukh language belongs to the Lezghian subgroup of Dagestani languages. Writing and literature is in the Azerbaijani language. Religious Budukhi belong to the Sunni sect of Islam. Their chief occupations are farming and cattle raising. The Budukhi are being consolidated with the Azerbaijanis.
