CMOS IC

(Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor Integrated Circuit) CMOS ICs had been the common type of chip fabrication until the 2010s, when FinFET fabrication took over for technology nodes smaller than 20 nm. Many types of chips, such as microcontrollers, do not need state-of-the-art fabrication, and CMOS chips are expected to thrive for decades. See CMOS, FinFET and chip.
