CSP

(1) (Certified Systems Professional) An earlier award for successful completion of an ICCP examination in systems development. See ICCP.

(2) (Commerce Service Provider) An organization that provides any combination of consulting, software and computer systems for e-commerce websites.

(3) (Cryptographic Service Provider) Software that performs encryption based on one or more cryptography algorithms. See cryptography.

(4) (Critical Security Parameter) An item of security data. See cryptographic module.

(5) (Cross System Product) An early IBM application generator. CSP/Application Development (CSP/AD) generated a pseudocode that was interpreted by CSP/Application Execution (CSP/AE) software in the target computer. CSP/AD generated compiled code for AS/400s. EZ-PREP and EZ-RUN were PC counterparts.

(6) (Chip Scale Package or Chip Size Package) A chip housing that is slightly larger than the chip itself. More than 100 types of CSP packages have been developed, mostly using BGA mounting. See BGA.
