In western PA, west of Altoona; organized Mar 26, 1804 from Somerset, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties. Name Origin: For Cambria township in Somerset County. Cambria is an ancient, poetic name for Wales, from Welsh cymy or cumbri 'brotherhood' or 'fraternity.'
