Cannon, Clarence Andrew

(1879–1964) U.S. representative, historian; born in Elsberry, Mo. A professor of history and a lawyer, he clerked for the U.S. Speaker of the House (1915–20). He served in the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Mo.; 1923–64) and wrote Cannon's Procedure (1928).
