Segrè chart

[sə′grā ‚chärt]
(nuclear physics)
A chart of the nuclides which is laid off in squares, each square displaying data about a nuclide; each column contains nuclides with a given neutron number and each row contains nuclides with a given atomic number; successive columns and rows represent successively higher numbers of neutrons and protons.

As much as I hate to disagree, the "Chart of the Nuclides for Naval Reactors, USDOE, that I have hanging on my wall lists the half-life of bismuth-209 as greater than or equal to 2 x [10.sup.18] years with an alpha-particle-decay mode of 3.07 million electronvolts.
I have a background in nuclear chemistry and from my experience, it's almost impossible to enter a nuclear laboratory and not find a General Electric Chart of the Nuclides hanging on the wall.
