Chereviki

 

an old Russian name for leather footwear. In the Ukraine, chereviki are colored or, on occasion, black leather shoes with high heels and sharply pointed toes. In the northern areas of Russia, women wear shoes called chereviki on holidays. The Russian chereviki are frequently similar in design to the Ukrainian.
