Chipperfield, Sir David Alan
Chipperfield, Sir David Alan(1953–)
Uncompromisingly modernist in outlook, Chipperfield designed the award-winning River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames, England, using green oak cladding, concrete, and glass. He designed the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa; the Central Public Library in Des Moines, Iowa, commissioned in 2001; and the Anchorage Museum Expansion in Anchorage, Alaska. Chipperfield was architect for the reconstruction of the destroyed Neues Museum in Berlin.
