a lake in the delta of the Kolyma River, in the Yakut ASSR. Lake Chukoch’e has an area of 120 sq km. It is shallow and has an irregular shoreline. The lake is fed by snow and rain and is linked with the nearby Lake Maloe Chukoch’e (area, 55 sq km) by a channel. Lake Chukoch’e is connected by a series of channels and lakes with Lake Nerpich’e and the left branch of the Kolyma River.
