    For this study, a herpetological inventory was conducted for the upper Duck River watershed within Coffee County, Tennessee, to compile a species list for the area.
    Based on historical distribution records and expected ranges, 34 species of amphibians and 40 species of reptiles potentially inhabit the upper Duck River watershed in Coffee County, Tennessee (Conant and Collins, 1998; Ernst et al., 1998; Petranka, 1998; Redmond and Scott, 1996).

The decline of this species in the wild may be reversing, however, thanks to the interest and efforts of private landowners in the area.
