Cohuna

a city in Australia, in the state of Victoria. In 1925 a skull of prehistoric man was found 16 km from the city. The skull is dolichocephalic and massive, with a low vault and heavy brow ridges. The volume of the cranial cavity is 1,260 cu cm. The face and nose are broad; there is great prognathism. The Cohuna man belongs to Neoanthropus and is considered by many re-searchers to be a representative of the proto-Australian race— an ancestor of the modern Australian aborigines.
