Conover, Harry (Sayles)

(1911–65) modeling agency founder; born in Chicago. A radio performer and model throughout the 1930s, he founded a New York modeling agency (1939). The fresh-faced beauty of "Conover Cover Girls" (a term he invented) graced leading magazines until a financial scandal closed his business (1959).
