Construction and Road Machinery, Institute of

 

(full name, All-Union Research Institute of Construction and Road Machinery; VNIIstroidormash), an institute in Moscow under the authority of the Ministry of Construction, Road, and Municipal-maintenance Machine Building of the USSR. Founded in 1947, the institute conducts research and experimental design work on the development of construction and road machines and equipment and coordinates developments in this field. It has a branch in Krasnoiarsk as well as a central experimental proving ground and an experimental plant in Ivanteevka, Moscow Oblast. The institute has a graduate school, and the academic council has the right to confer candidate’s degrees. The institute publishes Sborniki trudov (Collected Papers).
