Cooder, (Ryland Peter) Ry

(1947–  ) musician; born in Los Angeles. A versatile studio session guitarist, beginning in 1965 he recorded with many leading rock bands, including the Rolling Stones. In 1978 he began a second career as a motion picture soundtrack composer and producer for such movies as Crossroads, The Long Riders, and Paris, Texas.
