Corporate economic development

Corporate economic development

A strategy by which local development organizations mobilize local resources for a multifaceted development campaign. Pursuing opportunities, risk taking in investment, innovation, and creativity are collective community strategies that promote development by a community for itself. Government programs may be used and corporate support attracted, but organizations representing the interests of the local community launch and direct the initiatives.
