Carbon Copy

(1) A copy of a typewritten page that is printed from copy paper. See cc.

(2) Early remote control software for DOS and Windows from Microcom, Inc., Norwood, MA. Carbon Copy integrated well with Microcom's modem and remote access hardware. In 1997, Compaq acquired Microcom and absorbed the product.

Before filing a revised second amended complaint, the plaintiff's attorney sent the defendant's attorney a courtesy copy. Two days later, on October 7, 2005, the defendant's attorney wrote to the plaintiffs attorney advising him that the revised second amended complaint was "flawed" in that it: (1) included claims of retaliation and harassment that had been stated in the original complaint but had been omitted from the FAC, (2) alleged a cause of action against Sutter Health, which by then had been dismissed as a defendant, (3) included the medical disability language that the court had ordered stricken, and (4) alleged facts that were contrary to the plaintiff's deposition testimony.

Send the court a courtesy copy. Send the court a courtesy copy of the motion and a copy of all the cases cited in the motion, with a cover letter informing the judge the date and time of the hearing.
