Separation and contraction of the glaze on the surface of a ceramic object during drying or firing so that unglazed areas result.
In a film of wet paint, redistribution of the paint so that it is no longer evenly spread, usually due to imperfect bonding of the paint with the surface.
In painting, a defect that appears during the painting process, where the film breaks, separates, or raises, as a result of applying the paint over a slick or glossy surface.
