Croker, Thomas Crofton,

1798–1854, Irish antiquary, b. Cork. One of the first to collect Irish folklore, he compiled Fairy Legends and Traditions of the South of Ireland (1825–28), Legends of the Lakes (1829), and Popular Songs of Ireland (1837).
