Cuu Quoc

 

(National Salvation), a weekly newspaper, becoming the organ of the Central Committee of the Patriotic Front of Vietnam after the front was organized in September 1955. Founded in 1941, the newspaper was the organ of the Vietminh and the Lien Viet until September 1955. It is published in Hanoi and has a circulation of 20,000 copies (1974).

These groups, which were based on Vichy-organized youth groups, included the Nguyen Thai Hoc group (named after nationalist Nguyen Thai Hoc), Tong Hoi Sinh Vien Cuu Quoc (Students' Save the Nation group), Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Pioneers), Huong Sinh (Boy Scouts) and the Hoi Dong Bo Thanh Nien (youth group), which was founded in January 1945 and led by Vo Nguyen Giap.
