WebDAV
(Web Distributed Authoring And Versioning) Enhancements to the HTTP protocol that turn the Web into a document database that enables collaborative creation, editing and searching from remote locations. Standardized by the IETF, WebDAV enables documents to be written via HTTP (HTTP normally only supports reading). It also allows documents to be assigned properties, or attributes, that can be searched using the DAV Searching and Locating (DASL) protocol. WebDAV supports its own file system that stores documents in folders called "collections." See HTTP.Copyright © 1981-2019 by The Computer Language Company Inc. All Rights reserved.
