Daryacheh-Ye Namak

 

saltierra in the western portion of the Dasht-e-Kavir desert in Iran. Area, about 4,000 sq km. In winter and in early spring when the rivers overflow, a shallow lake or system of lakes (as much as 3,000 sq km in area) forms on the floor of the saltierra, with contours that change yearly.
