Density Point

Density Point

in mathematics. A density point of a set is a point such that the ratio of the measure of the part of the set in the neighborhood to the measure of the neighborhood—the so-called relative measure of a neighborhood of the point—approaches unity as the neighborhood shrinks to the point. In any measurable set, points that are not density points form a set of measure zero. Density points are of interest in the study of the asymptotic or approximative behavior of a function when the function in the neighborhood of a given point is considered not over the entire domain of definition but over a set for which the point is a density point. This is the case, for example, in the study of asymptotic continuity and of the derivative and differential.

There was no significant difference between treatments 5 passes and slope of > 20% and those 10 passes and slope of < 10% from a bulk density point of view.
Of course, the maximum received power point is the same as the maximum power density point. In the present work, no correction for receiving vertical antenna pattern was used; therefore, only measurement farther than 20 m was considered in order to minimize its influence.
The global mode point of the negative-ordered Lognormal random variable [X.sub.[gamma]] ~ L[N.sub.[gamma]]([mu], [sigma]), [gamma][member of](-[infinity], 0), is (in limit) the threshold 0 which is an infinite (probability) density point. Moreover, the location parameter (i.e., [e.sup.[mu]]) of L[N.sub.[gamma]]([mu], [sigma]) is a nonsmooth (local) mode point for all [X.sub.[gamma]<0] that corresponds to locally maximum density
"When LSI launched the industry's first 40nm read channel with LDPC iterative decoding last year, we set out with the vision of providing HDD customers with a low-risk, time-to-market advantage in meeting the next HDD areal density point," said Phil Brace, senior vice president and general manager, Storage Peripherals Division, LSI.
The distance between the before mineral gradient and the intersection of a line of that same slope with the 20% mineral density point on the after mineral density profile has been defined as erosion.
High density point clouds allows to inspect the whole surface of the part instead of some scattered points only.
Using a specially designed pressure cell for low temperatures, the scientists will analyze changes in liquid water as it moves from its maximum density point at 4[degrees]C to its minimum density at -63[degrees]C and beyond under various pressures.
Data linking inhaled steroids with decreased bone density point to a threshold of about 1,000 [micro]g/day (beclomethasone equivalent)--a higher dose than most patients need--below which the diminished bone density is not significant.
